Professional identity

 

For week two of our digital media class we had discussed our professional identity. It had made us explore our professional identity in relationship to our career aspirations. In the lesson the lady, Annie, made us reflect about things. Such as ; What are our values and motivations? How do we perceive ourselves and how do we want others to view us professionally? Lastly, how do we unsure our story gets told? At this part of the lesson we had watched a video on squiggly careers to make us be able to reflect and answer these questions for ourselves.

The session had also introduced us to the concept of professional portfolio's. The lady explained to us what they are. Professional portfolio's are to to show case your skills, education and work samples to help you to apply for jobs. In this lesson we had also looked at how they relate to curriculum vitae's and cover letters. Which they do. This is because both Curriculum Vitae's and cover letters are used too apply for jobs and tell employees what you have to offer to their work place.
